Metallic gold lettering on warm rust, set in Bodoni, the typeface Italian printers have been using to make ordinary words look expensive for about two hundred years. The rust sits somewhere between terracotta roofs and six o'clock light, and it works against every skin tone. Put gold on top of that and the whole thing catches the light every time you reach across the table for more bread.

You have a boarding pass and a table booked in the same week. Rooftop aperitivo. Train platforms in August. That is about when the room turns into a sauna and you get busy.
